Mrs. Emily Holzner is from Chicago, Illinois, and began teaching choir in Illinois in 2007. She earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Illinois in Music Education in 2007 and a Masters degree from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2011. There she served as a director of one of the Indiana University Children's Choirs, and she produced research in assessment methods in middle school choir classes. Mrs. Holzner taught previously at West Ridge Middle School in Eanes ISD before coming to Clint Small Middle School in 2016.
Mrs. Holzner has consistently achieved high scores with her choirs at UIL Competitions. Under her directions, Clint Small Choirs have sung in the Texas State Capitol Rotunda, on the ice at Texas Stars Ice Hockey Games, and on an army base for the families of wounded warriors. While she has taught middle, elementary, and college level courses in music, her favorite has always been teaching middle school singers to make beautiful music, and to make life-long friends.
